Statement
The inspiration for my work comes from my love of plants and gardens. I aim to create work that can sit comfortably in either an indoor or outdoor environment. This piece of work is inspired by the root system of a water lily and I have tried to capture the fragility and sensuality of the plant while also representing the gentle movement that the water creates. Significantly the piece is left white to allow the viewer to concentrate on the sculptural quality of the form. The shadows cast become an integral part of the work.
