Statement
The work refers to the history of the vessel as the quintessential container of "space". The space contained within has been integral to eastern spatial concepts in ceramics, but has been largely overlooked in the west, which has focused on external appearance. This work "Honors" the space enclosed by the clay walls as a "container" of all the tangible and intangible elements invested in the vessel throughout its history.
