Statement
Observations of various spatial relationships and shifts of perspective within and between architectural structures have led to the development of my current work. The juxtaposition of forms and the negative spaces created, establish dynamic and complex connections between interior and exterior- volume, space and surface. Digitally produced ceramic decals wrapping and connecting; combining manipulated imagery of the human hand overlaid with urban textural elements represents the disparity between industrial processes and the hand-made object. Surface embellishment appears 3-dimensional with life-size hands expressing a sense of the organic, in response to the refined, angular forms.
