Statement & Curriculum Vitae
Christopher ADAMS(b. 1972,United States)

Statement
My work is part of a series of biomorphic abstractions that play on the biological speciation concept of “adaptive radiation”. The works themselves are not representational. Some are plant-like (b. vaguely resembling flowers or kelp), while others are more faunal, but none depict a specific organism, or try to. Instead, they are all members of an arbitrarily designed family of creatures, each with the same number of appendages (b. 18) attached in the same order on the same basic internal framework, each having evolved to fill a particular niche -- in this case, ones that are purely aesthetic.
