Statement
This is a wall hanging sculpture. It is intended to suggest a blast resistant, high-security door or hatchway as might be used in industries such as oil refineries, aerospace, military defense or laboratories, where protection from explosions or harmful exposure is necessary. In my interpretation, corrosive effects can be seen suggesting an apparent breach or serious failure of the door to contain its’ perilous contents resulting in such potentially calamitous results as heat, air-born pathogens, bio-contaminants, mayhem, fear.
